BOMA Sustainability Awards

(May 27, 2019) — Crown is pleased to share that it has been honoured with awards in several categories at the 2019 BOMA Toronto Celebration of Excellence which took place on May 22, 2019 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Crown is committed to applying best management practices that ensure the long-term resilience, health, and well-being of our employees, tenants, buildings and their surrounding environments and as such, we are proud to have received the following recognition:

BOMA Earth Award, 100,000 – 249,999 sq. ft.:

BOMA Sustainability Awards
This award was presented to 15 Allstate Parkway as the Crown team has made significant efforts to address environmental issues faced by older and newer buildings. The Earth Award recognizes buildings and their teams for excellence in environmental management in the real estate industry. Utilizing the scoring from the BOMA BEST® Program, awards are presented in the various building categories. The overall top scoring buildings are eligible to move on to the BOMA Canada National Awards.

Crown’s Head Office was recently announced at the 2019 BOMA Celebration of Excellence Gala, as the winner of the 2019 Earth Hour Challenge, within The Landlord Challenge category. The Landlord Challenge awards the greatest percentage of energy reduction for a property management company office.  In the spirit of participating in the challenge, Crown was able to effectively reduce their energy consumption by promoting employees to work from home or outside of the office.

101 McNabbThe Certificate of Excellence program sets the standards in the industry and recognizes excellence in property and facility management. Certificates acknowledge commitment to best practices in building performance, quality of building management and the people behind it. Buildings must meet standards in building management, operations, environmental/energy/emergency management, design, tenant and community relations, tenant satisfaction and personnel training, with a minimum requirement of 70%.

The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY®) Awards is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry recognizing quality in commercial real estate buildings, rewarding excellence in building management and must meet a minimum requirement of 80%. Earlier this year, 101 McNabb received BOMA BEST platinum certification, and has now been recognized for its outstanding building practices/management and operating systems, in addition to the team’s community involvement and environmental and sustainability management. As a TOBY winner at the Regional level, 101 McNabb is eligible to compete at the National level, which is to take place this September in St. John’s Newfoundland.
