Crown Realty Partners Earns 5-Star ESG Rating in 2020 GRESB Assessment

GRESB 2020

Toronto, ON–(Dec 1, 2020) – Crown is pleased to announce it has achieved a 5-star ranking in the 2020 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), a global standard for benchmarking sustainability performance for real asset investments.

2020 is Crown’s second year reporting on its overall sustainability strategy and specifically the performance of the assets within its core office fund. Crown ranked 9th out of the 23 North American participants, a notable achievement, given the prestigious list of firms participating within the peer group.

Crown’s submission also earned the Green Star designation.  In order to achieve a Green Star, a GRESB Assessment participant must meet score thresholds in both Management & Policy as well as Implementation & Measurement categories, an indication that Crown’s sustainability policy extends beyond its Core Fund.  Across the portfolio this year, Crown’s assets have received other certifications including LEED, BOMA Best, BOMA’s Certificate of Excellence and The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) to name a few.

With these results, Crown is seeking year-over-year improvements and for 2021, has targeted several operational initiatives focusing on health and wellness across the portfolio of real estate assets, as well as reporting initiatives to continue to strive for growth in a sustainable and responsible manner across the organization.
