Position Summary:

Provide technical support on basic mechanical equipment and electrical systems. Assists in routine preventative maintenance and repairs on building equipment and systems, and ensures all activities are recorded in the building maintenance log book.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma (min.)
  • 2 years of basic building operations experience
  • Enrollment in, or completion of programs such as the Building Environmental program at Seneca College or the Systems Maintenance Administrator (S.M.A.) program offered through BOMA or other related courses is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager, assist in maintenance and repair of all electrical and/or mechanical equipment, and maintain up-to-date records of activities in the Building Maintenance system.
  • Perform basic plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Perform basic chemical testing for cooling and heating water systems
  • Change lights and fixtures as required.
  • Provide general help on regular maintenance activities throughout the building, and support HVAC system maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain all electrical and mechanical rooms so that they are clean and organized at all times, including the painting of piping, pumps and floors.
  • Record and verify all Life Safety equipment present and in good working order.
  • Address tenant requests and complaints promptly, and professionally.
